Make the Most of This Spring Break
BySound Vision Team

The Islamic month of Rajab has begun which means that we have less than two months left before Ramadan starts. And spring break is upon us. That means it is a good time to look back and consider whether we are living our best lives.
Every now and then we must reflect on our actions and our mental status to make sure that we are on track and not drowning in the world around us. Spring gives us a natural renewal, as does Ramadan, so it is a good time to renew our intentions and to figure out what we need to work on, as individuals and as a community.
While spring break is a time to relax, we must utilize this break time to the best of our abilities and work on ourselves, mentally, physically, spiritually and socially. It is important to be mindful of all we need as humans to achieve our very best. Our bodies, our minds, and our hearts need to be working in good condition so that we can tackle seasonal depression, as well as the challenges facing us in society. To help you have your best spring break, Sound Vision has broken down these categories and provided tips to help you make the most of this spring break.
Religious: As we noted above, there are less than two months left until Ramadan. That means that we should be preparing ourselves for this blessed time. A great way to incorporate the remembrance of Allah into our daily lives is by saying a couple of lines of Dhikr, or reading half a page of the Qur’an everyday.
Physical: A good goal for the spring break is to learn to be more active. Try to go for a walk three times a week. If you have a family, go for a walk with them. Take in the new sights of spring, and bask in the glory of Allah as He brings what was dead a new again.
Mental: Seasonal depression can hinder us. It can make us feel lousy and blah. A good way to beat seasonal depression is to set small, everyday goals and try to achieve them, as well as being mindful of what we eat. These goals will help give us mental clarity and feel better through the nutritious food we eat.
Social: Humans are social creatures. That is why it is imperative that we build a healthy social life. This life can revolve around our families, as well as our friends. An excellent way to get a family discussion going is to ask about the highs and lows of everyone’s day. This helps maintain strong connections.
