Lahore By Metro is an ambitious book about a youth’s fascination for a transit system which has made travel easier for masses. At a glance, it looks like a promotion of the system, but actually it reveals the emotions, feelings and circumstances of the passengers interviewed by the author.

Faizan Ahmad, is a graduate from the University of Education, a breath-taking photographer and story teller. In this book he describes how people from all classes commute by Metro. He has been successful in getting inner desires and aspirations of fellow travelers expressed. The book contains over one hundred pictures taken by the author. In each photo, a traveler reveals his or her thoughts on life about hopes and future.

Some of the pics and what they say are:

‘What is your favorite thing about your daughter’?

‘Her free spirit.’

‘Today was my first day at The National College of Arts. To become an architect is my dream so you can imagine how excited I was when I saw my name on the merit list.’

Metro bus traveling on the bridge while Urs celebrations are underway at Data Durbar, Bhatti Station, Lahore.

A pilgrim performing dhamal.

‘You may not believe from my appearance that my elder daughter completed her master’s degree and I am so proud of her. I had to do so much hard work and the day she got her degree was the happiest day of my life.’
