Naseem Shah Shows up to Field in Shirt Calling Womanhood ‘Superpower’

In a heartening display of support for women's empowerment, Pakistani TV host and sports commentator Zainab Abbas has praised cricketer Naseem Shah for donning a unique shirt during a recent match.

The white T-shirt, adorned with a red funky font, boldly declares, "Being a woman is a superpower." Zainab took to her Instagram to share her appreciation for the initiative.

Sharing a picture of Naseem Shah proudly sporting the empowering message, Zainab wrote in the caption, "Such a fantastic initiative by Islamabad United - loving the T-shirts all the players are wearing today, empowering women." The post highlighted the positive stance taken by Islamabad United, the Pakistan Super League team to which Naseem belongs, and their commitment to promoting gender equality.

The statement-making shirts were worn by all members of Islamabad United before a match on Sunday, sending a visible and impactful message to everyone on the field and beyond. Islamabad United emerged victorious over Multan Sultans, securing a thrilling three-wicket win at Rawalpindi. Multan Sultans took to the crease first, putting up a formidable total of 228 runs for the loss of 4 wickets within the stipulated twenty overs in the match on Sunday. 

Undeterred by the formidable score, Islamabad United displayed a commendable batting performance in response. Chasing the target within the stipulated twenty overs, they managed to score the required runs, reaching 229 for the loss of seven wickets.

Model Eman Suleman shared a reflective and poignant post, questioning the significance of celebrating women amidst an ongoing, one-sided war in which women are suffering. "It's International Women's Day," stated the post she shared on her Instagram Story. "25,000 women and girls have been killed in Gaza. Where is the rage? Where are the hashtags?
