JUI-F withdraws from government

ISLAMABAD: The Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) has announced its withdrawal from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) led government.

JUI-F spokesman, Jan Achakzai said that it was difficult for the party to stay in the government until the deadlock on policy matters was not eliminated.

Achakzai added that the PML-N had not taken the JUI-F into confidence over the Protection of Pakistan Ordinance, Taliban talks and National Security Policy.

Achakzai said JUI-F ministers Abdul Ghafoor Haideri and Akram Durrani ahd tendered their resignations.

Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was on a foreign tour and will meet Maulana Fazlur Rehman when he returns.
