Sardar Mehtab Abbasi sworn in as KP governor

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) senior leader Sardar Mehtab Abbasi was sworn in as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s new governor on Thursday. He has replaced Shaukatullah Khan, who had submitted his resignation to President Mamnoon Hussain on April 8. Shaukatullah was appointed by former president Asif Ali Zardari last year. According to reports, Abbasi took his oath at the Governor’s House. PML-N Secretary General Iqbal Zafar Jhagra and Major (r) Amir, who was part of the first government peace talks committee, were also among the candidates for the post.
