Pakistan to host Tent-pegging World C’ship in 2016: Rangers DG
LAHORE: Punjab Rangers Director General (DG) Major General Khan Tahir Javed Khan was elected chairman of the Equestrian and Tent-pegging Association of Pakistan (ETAP) on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, General Tahir said that Tent-pegging World Championship, 2016, would be held in Pakistan. He urged stakeholders to play their part in strengthening the game at grass-roots level. He said that the ETAP would also play its role in strengthening the game.
General Khan later chaired the inaugural meeting of the ETAP at the Rangers Headquarters. All governing body members of the ETAP from across the country participated in it. They unanimously elected General Khan as new president of the association. The meeting later reviewed working plan for national and international tent-pegging competitions in 2014. Members of the ETAP executive committee called for induction and training of female horse riders to meet future challenges. Later, ETAP members watched a polo match.
