PTI govt in KP is directionless: Sherpao

PESHAWAR: Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao said on Monday that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led provincial government lacks direction, as there is a marked difference between the words and deeds of the rulers.
In a statement issued from Watan Kor, the central secretariat of the party, he said that the provincial government was directionless and the system was being run on ad hoc basis. “There is no proper planning to implement the so-called agenda of change,” he remarked. He said that the letter written by the former chief secretary to the KP chief minister indicated towards the non-seriousness of the PTI-led government. He said hiring the services of eight highly-paid persons in the provincial Information Department without advertising the posts, belied the claims of the PTI leadership to do away with nepotism and eradicate corruption.
Aftab Sherpao said the chief minister suspended the Sports Department secretary and other officials instead of taking action against the minister. “The officials were made a scapegoat, but the minister was spared, which shows the rulers have double standards,” he maintained. The QWP leader said the provincial government had done no homework to hold the local government elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, but passed the buck to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). “The ECP has made its position clear that the KP government has neither carried out the delimitation of the constituencies nor did the legislation,” he added.
He said the PTI government had failed to honour the pledges made during the election campaign. He said the people were feeling insecure due to the deteriorating law and order. “The indifferent attitude of the rulers is causing a sense of deprivation among the masses,” he added.
