PM’s aide meets Cameron, Wang in US
British PM expresses grief, sorrow over Lahore tragedy


WASHINGTON – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s Special Assistant on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi held a meeting with British Prime Minister David Cameron here on the sidelines of the Nuclear Security Summit here in the United States.

The British prime minister expressed grief and sorrow over the Lahore tragedy and appreciated the sacrifices rendered by Pakistan in the war on terror, officials said. “Britain will continue cooperation with Pakistan in economy and security fields… There is need to further bolster cooperation in education and energy sectors,” officials quoted Cameron as saying.

Fatemi, who represents Pakistan at the summit, said that terrorism poses common threat to Pakistan and Britain. He also held a meeting with Chinese Minister for Foreign Affairs Wang Yi in Washington. Matters pertaining to bilateral cooperation and mutual interest were discussed during the meeting.
