Imran dares PM Nawaz to show courage, make assets public

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has dared Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to show courage and make his taxes and assets public after Panama leaks allegations.

In a latest tweet, Imran Khan said, “British PM David Cameron has made public the record of his tax declaration. Will our PM has the moral courage to make his taxes & assets public?”

On Sunday, Imran Khan asked PM Nawaz to step down as he has lost moral standing in the wake of massive leak of tax documents from a Panamanian law firm.

In his address to nation, the PTI chairman drew parallels between the Pakistani prime minister and his British counterpart David Cameron saying the latter was facing immense pressure to relinquish the post despite the fact that he had the shares in offshore companies of his father before assuming the office of prime minister.

"PM Cameron's only fault is to pay less in taxes, he did not abuse his powers," Khan said, adding that the Pakistani prime minister indulged in corruption, tax evasion and money laundering.

The PTI chairman refused to accept the proposed inquiry commission, demanding the government to set up a commission headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan to probe the matter.

Imran Khan warned that if his demand was not accepted, he would announce his future course of action on April 24 when the PTI marks it foundation day. He said PTI's protest would continue until the prime minister tenders his resignation.
