Saudi envoy calls on Shehbaz

CM appreciates role, cooperation of Saudi govt in socio-economic development, promotion of trade and industry in Pakistan

LAHORE - Saudi Ambassador in Pakistan Abdullah Marzouk Al-Zahrani met Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad on Thursday.

According to a handout issued here, matters of mutual interest, promotion of bilateral relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, mutual trade and enhancing cooperation in different sectors came under discussion during the meeting.

The chief minister appreciated the role and cooperation of the Saudi government in socio-economic development and promotion of trade and industry in Pakistan. He said that deep friendly, brotherly, religious and historical relations existed between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.

Shehbaz said the Saudi government had extended commendable cooperation and role in the promotion of industry and trade and social development of Pakistan. He said that Saudi Arabia had supported Pakistan in every hour of distress. Deep brotherly and friendly contacts between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia were strengthening with the passage of time.

The chief minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, the government was trying to cope with challenges faced by the country. The Saudi ambassador appreciated the steps of social welfare and economic development in Punjab and assured all out cooperation on behalf of the Saudi government.

He said that Saudi Arabia gave special importance to its bonds with Pakistan and added that the relations between the two countries were further strengthening.
