Mauritius President Dr Ameenah to visit Pakistan on Sunday

ISLAMABAD - A delegation of Mauritius led by its President Dr Bibi Ameenah Firdaus Gurib-Fakim will visit Pakistan on Sunday.

During the visit from April 17-20, a meeting will be held between President Mamnoon Hussain and the visiting president, where matters of mutual interests as well as regional and international importance will come under discussion, a Foreign Ministry statement said.

During the visit, the two sides will explore the possibilities of further strengthening existing bilateral ties in various fields of common interest with particular focus on economic and trade relations. “The visit will also provide an opportunity for resuming leadership level contacts between the two countries,” the Foreign Ministry spokesman said.

Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, Minister of State for National Health ServicesSaira Afzal Tarrar and PM’s Special Assistant on Foreign Affairs Syed Tariq Fatemi will call on the visiting president.

“Pakistan and Mauritius enjoy close and cordial relations which are based on mutual identity of views on regional and global issues,” the Foreign Ministry said.
