Judges detention: Musharraf’s medical certificate termed fake

ISLAMABAD: The anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Friday termed the fresh medical certificate of former president Pervez Musharraf a fake and ordered police to arrest and produced him before the court till May 20 in judges detention case.

ATC judge Sohail Ikram was hearing the judges’ detention case. During the hearing, the court has expressed resentment after it found that fresh medical certificate submitted by lawyer of Musharraf is fake.

The police submitted a report stating that the accused could not be arrested despite issuance of non-bailable arrest warrant against him. The former president went to Karachi two years back and last month he went abroad.

Judge Sohail Ikram remarked that Musharraf went abroad in March and medical certificate submitted in the court is of April 6th.

On this Musharraf’s lawyer told the court that his client will appear in court if his doctors allow him and adequate security is ensured for him.

While maintaining the non-bailable arrest warrant, the court ordered police to arrest and produced Musharraf till May 20. (INP)
