Rangers raid Farooq Sattar’s residence in Karachi operation

KARACHI: The Pakistan Rangers Sindh raided the residence of MQM leader Dr Farooq Sattar as the paramilitary troops entered PIB Colony area to conduct a search operation in the wee hours of Monday.

The Rangers contingent cordoned off the area before the search operation and removed the security camp setup outside the residence of Sattar.

MQM leaders and workers rushed to the area after receiving the information about the Rangers move.

Later, speaking to media, Farooq Sattar said that he was not aware of the motive behind the Rangers operation.

He further said that an MQM worker and his neighbor were arrested by the Rangers during the operation while his licensed weapon was also seized.

“We are saddened over the move as we have always supported targeted operation in Karachi. I called Director General Rangers but was unable to contact him,” Sattar added. He said that the Rangers had left him vulnerable.
