Wide-scale Independence Day celebrations at govt level hailed

KARACHI - Shaikh Nisar Ahmed Parchamwala, the CEO of VIP Flags, a popular flag- making firm, has welcomed the government's decision to celebrate Independence Day with vigour and enthusiasm.
In a statement here, he said that after a long time Independence Day programmes are being organised on a large scale at government level all over the country. He said that it is a very encouraging development for the patriotic Pakistanis, and its credit goes to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. The decision will play an important role in promoting harmony in the country, he added.
Shaikh Nisar urged the common people, NGOs, other political parties, social, religious, educational and cultural organisations to celebrate the 14th of August this year at every level, besides the programmes being conducted by the government. He particularly appealed to all the opposition parties to forget their political differences and join hands with the government to celebrate this auspicious occasion actively.
Shaikh Nisar suggested to political parties to hoist only national flag and not their party flags to show the world that Pakistanis are a free nation, and despite any political difference of opinions "we are united on our national day".
He said that competitions should be held for decoration of neighbourhoods through national flag and the government should announce prizes for this purpose. The hoisting of large flags, decoration of classrooms by school students, decoration of markets and neighbourhoods, will create enthusiasm in the public.
He also appealed to the media to play their role to highlight Independence Day celebrations to show the world that Pakistanis are lively and wise people.
