NSC held sans federal interior minister, Punjab CM

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Federal Interior Minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan could not fly from here to Islamabad to attend the much hyped National Security conference held this morning due to inclement weather, Geo News reported.

A handout issued here said that Punjab CM and interior minister’s plane had to return from the runway as it could not take off due to inclement weather and, therefore, they were unable to attend the NSC held in Islamabad.

Sources said that the interior minister earlier had a meeting with the Punjab CM to give a final shape to the strategy relating to the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) protests, while Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s Azadi march also came under consideration.
