ZIARAT – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday called for an end to negative politics and subversion in Pakistan and urged parties holding ‘Azadi March’ or 'Inqilab March' to better work for the national development.

"Pakistan cannot afford any more subversion and negative politics. Let us work for the development. If we do not win next election, they would at least inherit a developed Pakistan," the prime minister said after inaugurating the rehabilitated building of Quaid-i-Azam Residency here.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Balochistan Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai, Chief Minister Abdul Malik Baloch, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rashid, Minister for States and Frontier Regions Abdul Qadir Baloch and Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, besides provincial ministers.

Prime Minister Nawaz said it was the true 'Azadi March' that both civil and military leadership were celebrating the Independence Day here together and prayed that it should continue in the years to come. He said Pakistan could attain heights of progress and prosperity if it got a decade of peace without any interruption.

During peaceful 10 years, all the disparities in the society could be removed, with the people getting full attention from the government, he said. "But this requires devotion and hard work," the prime minister remarked. He also lauded the completion of residency's rehabilitation project in record time.
