Complete shutdown in IOK on India's Independence Day

ISLAMABAD: Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and the world over are observing the Indian Independence Day on Friday as Black Day to convey the message to the international community that India continues to usurp their inalienable right to self determination.

The day is being marked by complete shutdown in Indian occupied Kashmir (IOK)call for which has been given by the All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and other Hurriyet leaders including Syed Ali Gilani Muhammad Yasin Malik and Shabbir Ahmed Shah KMS reported.

The occupation authorities have imposed stringent restrictions in Srinagar and other towns by deploying heavy contingents of Indian police and troops to prevent people from holding anti-India demonstrations.

Tight security measures have been taken around Bakhshi Stadium the main venue of the official function. CCTV cameras are being used for surveillance purpose.

On the other hand the authorities have placed under house arrest Hurriyet leaders including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Syed Ali Gilani, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, Zafar Akbar Butt, Ayaz Akbar and Syed Saleem Gilani.
