Terrorists making desperate attempts to damage Pakistan: COAS

 

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif appreciated the valour of security forces which successfully foiled the terrorist attack on the PAF and Army Aviation Base, Quetta.

COAS Sharif said terrorists were on the run after Operation Zarb-e-Azb and were making desperate attempts to cause damage to Pakistan. General Sharif said attempts of terrorists would not bear fruit and they would not find any place to hide in the country.

The army chief added: “with the backing of the entire nation we will Inshalla eliminate the scourge of terrorism from our soil forever.”

COAS said security forces should continue to remain vigilant and respond promptly as they have done in Quetta to defeat nefarious designs of the terrorists.

An ISPR spokesman providing details about Thursday night’s attack on PAF Base Samungli and Khalid Army Aviation Base Quetta, said that terrorists attempts to enter both bases were successfully foiled by prompt action of an integrated security force of Army, PAF, FC and Police at both bases killing 11 terrorists. Three Terrorists have also been apprehended.

Five Terrorists were killed outside PAF Base Samungli and 3 were apprehended. Six terrorists were killed outside Khalid Army Aviation Base Quetta.

All PAF and Army Aviation assets remained safe.
