RAWALPINDI – Appreciating valour of security forces who successfully foiled terrorists bid to attack Air Force and Army Aviation Base in Quetta, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif said that terrorists are on the run and making desperate attempts to cause damage to Pakistan after Zarbe Azb military operation in tribal areas.

He said terrorists’ attempts would not bear fruit and they would not find any space to hide in Pakistan. “With backing of the entire nation, we will InshAllah eliminate scourge of terrorism from our soil forever,” he said. The security forces should continue to remain vigilant and respond promptly as they have done in Quetta to defeat nefarious designs of the terrorists, he said.

Divulging details about last night attack on PAF Base Smungli and Khalid Army Aviation Base in Quetta, ISPR spokesman said that the terrorists attempts to enter both the bases were successfully foiled by a prompt action by an integrated security force of the army, air force, FC and police at the bases, killing 11 terrorists.

The spokesman confirmed that at least three terrorists have also been apprehended.
