PM resignation proposal can be discussed: Asif
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Defence Minister, Khawaja Asif said on Friday that the proposal of the prime minister’s resignation can be discussed.
However, Asif made it clear that he would stress on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan that the constitution clearly states procedure to remove the prime minister. Asif said that according to the constitution if a party has strength of votes in the parliament, the prime minister can be removed.
The PTI has presented six demands to the government which would bring an end to the protest in Islamabad. The first of these demands is the resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and PTI chairman Imran Khan has repeatedly announced that he would not leave Islamabad until this is achieved.
