ISLAMABAD – Former president Asif Ali Zardari has proposed to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif that he should also follow the policy of reconciliation on the pattern of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and include all political parties in his government.

According to reports, the suggestion was given by the former president during their meeting in Raiwind on Saturday last. According to sources, Nawaz said that they were ready to include PPP in the Punjab government. The PPP has eight members in the Punjab Assembly and two of them could be given ministries and two made advisers or chairmen of the standing committees.

However, the PPP is insisting to remain in opposition as it has its opposition leaders in the Senate and the National Assembly. The Pakistan Muslim League-N is also ready to include the PML-N Sindh members in the provincial government. On the other hand, the Pakistan Muslim League-Q is determined to its demand of formation of a national government.

The Jamaat-e-Islami is silent over the proposal. The sources said that the former president was also likely to talk to the Awami National Party and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement for inclusion of different parties in the federal and the provincial governments.
