ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Wednesday announced an end to negotiations with the government till the resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Addressing his supporters in the Red Zone here, after the government and PTI negotiating teams failed to break the deadlock, Imran said that the government accepted all the demands except the resignation of the prime minister.

He said that there could be no independent investigation into rigging of elections in the presence of Nawaz Sharif. He said till investigations complete, Nawaz Sharif could not remain as the prime minister and they had proofs that he was involved in rigging.

He said that was why the PTI demanding resignation of the prime minister and fresh elections. He said that all the doors of justice had been closed on the protestors and he announced not to leave the red zone till his all demands were accepted.

Imran said the government wanted that the protestors should leave the red zone and they would be free to purchase or pressurize the investigators. For this purpose, he has been offered the post of deputy prime minister. He however said that what he was doing was for the people of Pakistan and not for personal gains.

The PTI chief announced to divulge his next course of action on Wednesday night in his address. He rejected the theory that the sit-in were being held on the asking of the army and said had it been so, they would not have remained peaceful.

Imran Khan said that he was a democrat and had already apologized to the nation over supporting Musharraf's referendum.
