Resignations of PTI MPA's send to Speaker Punjab Assembly

LAHORE: Resignations of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) members of the Punjab assembly have been sent to the speaker of the provincial assembly.

The PTI members had submit their resignations in protest against the party’s allegations that the general elections of 2013 were rigged. According to sources the speaker of the assembly will decide the next step after holding consultations with legal experts.

The resignations of 28 PTI members of the Punjab assembly were submitted to the seceratry of the assembly by opposition leader Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed yesterday (Wednesday).

Sources have confirmed that two PTI legilators in the provincial assembly, namely Nighat Intizar from PP-107 and Jahanzaib Khan Khichi from PP-239 have not submitted their resignations.

According to PTI sources, the two members resignations were not submitted as they are traveling abroad, adding that once they return they will also submit their resignations via the opposition leader.
