Pakistan is on the right track: PM Nawaz

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Monday that Pakistan would be made secure for every religion and ethnicity and that the country was moving in the right direction.

PM Nawaz Sharif presided over a high level meeting on Monday during which internal peace and the National Action Plan was discussed.

PM Sharif remarked that due to the efforts of the provincial and federal governments as well as the nation, extremism was suffering a setback in Pakistan. Nawaz also appreciated the efforts of law enforcement and other security agencies for striving to main law and order in the country.

He paid tribute to the security officers for laying down their lives for the nation due to which law and order was far better now and terrorists had been expelled. He said that extremist ideologies were internationally dreaded and that after operation Zarb-e0-Azb as well as the National Action Plan, things had taken a turn for the better in Pakistan.

PM also said that the federal government would continue supporting the intelligence sharing mechanism in order to strengthen it. Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar, DG ISR lieutenant General Rizwan Akhtar, DG IB Aftab Sultan, National Security Adviser Nasir Khan Janjua were part of the meeting.
