No truth in PTI’s accusations: Daniyal

ISLAMABAD: Member National Assembly Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Daniyal Aziz has said PTI was, once again, telling a lie as opposition parties did not have consensus among themselves on Terms of References (ToRs) on Panama Papers.

Speaking to a private TV channel, he said that the name of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was not mentioned in Panama Papers, so there was no justification in demanding accountability of the Prime Minister. He added by saying PTI was telling a lie to the nation regarding ToRs on Panama Papers as it just wants to put allegations on PML-N government.

Daniyal Aziz said the opposition had made Panama Papers issue a matter of ego. He said Sheikh Rasheed and PTI had filed several petitions against the Prime Minister in Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) but there was no reference of Panama Papers in any of their petitions.

"They did not follow law and constitution regarding filing petitions. These petitions were based on mere accusations on the Prime Minister and to defame the Election Commission," he said. The MNA further added that PML-N had filed a report to disqualify PTI Chief Imran Khan from the assembly under articles 62 and 63 of the constitution before the Speaker of the National Assembly.

He said Imran Khan and some other leaders had used offensive language against the Parliament which was shameful.
