Preparations for Independence Day in full swing

ISLAMABAD: The preparations for celebrating the 70th Independence Day are on-going in the capital with great patriotic passion and enthusiasm.
The capital is wearing green and white look with display of colourful stalls carrying Jashan-i-Azadi accessories like national flags, badges, souvenirs, balloons, T-shirts can be located in every corner. "This year Independence Day preparations have started before the advent of August and people are showing more enthusiasm toward celebrating it", Masood Raza, a resident of G-7 Markaz said. He said, "My children have bought flags to decorate the house and our car. They have also purchased Azadi shirts available at every stall".
Ameen Khaliq, a resident of I-8 sector said. "The display of stalls on the road side area in the main markaz of I-8 sector has become an attraction for most of the people". He said, "I see children and youngsters at these stalls while going back home in evening, which reflects their patriotism and enthusiasm".
Samia Aslam, a young student said, "All of my friends and I will wear the flag coloured suits on the 14th. We will also visit the market for buying other accessories like green and white bangles, shoes and pin badges." She said “I-Day has gotten the shape of a festival or gala and people, irrespective of their ages, participate in its activities.
Different programmes would be arranged to pay tributes to the national heroes and the leaders of Pakistan Movement who laid their lives for the country. The main offices and homes will be illuminated with lighting bulbs and prayers would be held on the day for the prosperity of the country.
