Army Chief orders special combing ops after Quetta blast

QUETTA: Chief of Army Staff, General Raheel Sharif has ordered special combing operations across the country following deadly Quetta blast.

Chairing a high-level Civil-military meeting here Monday, the Army Chief said, “Quetta blast is an attempt to undermine improved security in Balochistan, specially targeting China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).”

General Raheel said all resources will be employed to control situation.

The Army Chief ordered intelligence agencies to go anywhere in the country to target anyone linked with these terror acts.

Chief Minister Balochistan Sanaullah Zehri, Chief Secretary Balochistan, and Commander Southern Command Lt-Gen Amir Riaz attended the meeting.

COAS said having been defeated in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa terrorists are shifting their focus to Balochistan.

Early, following the blast that left over 60 mostly lawyers dead, the Army Chief visited Civil Hospital Quetta and Balochistan High Court.

He also visited Balochistan High Court and offered condolences with Chief Justice Balochistan and panel of judges for all those who lost their lives in the blast.
