Qureshi terms Quetta carnage a ‘national tragedy’

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi has called Quetta carnage a ‘national tragedy’.

Over 74 people most of them lawyers were killed and more than 108 injured in the suicide attack in Quetta’s civil hospital on Monday.

PTI leader, speaking in the national assembly, stated, although it is not the first incident of its nature, every Pakistani has condemned it and expressed solidarity with the bereaved families.

He said Pakistan has paid heavy price in fight against terrorism, over 60,000 people have sacrificed their lives in it, however, the international community was still reluctant to accept out stance.

“Terrorism is a national challenge which we must counter at all costs,” he said.

Meanwhile, state run television stopped live coverage of Qureshi’s speech in the assembly.
