Nisar criticises leaders on anti-agencies remarks

By: Online

ISLAMABAD: Bearing down tough on people who passed statements against agencies in the wake of Quetta bombing, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said the dissenting political leaders should have raised their voice against RAW and NDS – spy agencies of India and Afghanistan respectively.

Addressing the National Assembly, he said the terrorists knew that lawyers are going to assemble at Civil Hospital, adding he vowed that the government is determined to push this war to its logical end.

Nisar said that a crucial meeting presided over by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif continued for hours to discuss law and order in the country and the meeting will be held once again tomorrow. He said that Pakistan suffers more from terrorism than Iraq or Afghanistan.

He stated that the General Headquarters (GHQ) were attacked in the past, further adding that even airports and air-bases were not secure. He said that the government aimed to hold talks with terrorists but negotiations failed – resulting in more attacks.

He said that the operation against the terrorists could not have been a success without the cooperation of the public. He said that unity was required in order to minimise the activities of the terrorists.

“Those who are battling against terrorism are our heroes,” said Nisar and added that the decision to initiate an operation against the terrorist was made three months after holding a series of talks with them.

Nisar said that the speeches made in the parliament yesterday (on Tuesday) were condemnable – even if they were made in the parliament of any other country. He stated that the terrorists should know that the nation is united. He said that evidences regarding the Quetta blast were obtained and that the attack was well-planned and coordinated.

The Interior minister said that making implementation upon the National Action Plan (NAP) was a responsibility of all while Pakistan’s improving security situation was being acknowledged globally.
