Gilani thanks US ambassador for recovery of son from Afghanistan
ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani met US Ambassador in Pakistan David Hale on Wednesday.
During the meeting they discussed bilateral relations between Pakistan and the US, regional situation in the context of situation in Afghanistan and steps needed to bring normalcy in the war torn country.
Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani congratulated David Hale for his posting in Islamabad and thanked the US for help in the recovery of his son from Afghanistan Ali Haider Gilani, in a successful operation in Afghanistan.
Ali Haider was recovered in a joint operation carried out by the Afghan and US security forces from Giyan district of Paktika province,Afghanistan. Former Deputy Speaker National Assembly Faisal Karim Kundi was also present during the meeting.
