Arrest of Kulbhushan ‘unconventional war’ against Pakistan: Gen Riaz

QUETTA: Lt-Gen. Amir Riaz, Commander Southern Command, has stated it is evident from the arrest of Indian spy Kulbhushan Yadav from Balochistan that India has launched ‘unconventional war’ against Pakistan.

Talking to journalists in Quetta Press Club, Gen. Amir Riaz said, “Conspiracies are being hatched against Pakistan externally as well as internally.”

He said, “There were many people in this country who have gone astray and are involved in terrorism in the name of religion.”

Amir Riaz said, “Terrorists are not Muslims at all.”

Kulbhushan Yadav was arrested by intelligence agencies in Balochistan in March and he was later shifted to Islamabad for investigation.

During preliminary investigations, the undercover Indian agent had revealed that his main agenda was to sabotage the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) through propaganda and to create disharmony among the Baloch nationalist political parties.

In a video confession that military spokesman Gen Asim Bajwa played during a press conference, Yadav said: “I am still a serving officer in the Indian Navy and will be due for retirement in 2022."
