Youth must be given opportunities in politics: Ayaz Sadiq
ISLAMABAD: Speaker Ayaz Sadiq said on Monday that the youth should be given chances to enter the field of politics and combat challenges.
Addressing the SAARC Young Parliamentarians’ Conference in Islamabad, Sadiq said that South Asian countries can tackle the challenges they faced through teamwork. He said that the young parliamentarians from SAARC countries could play an important role in promoting peace and unity among their countries.
The Conference included young parliamentarians from Bhutan, Afghanistan, India, Nepal and Maldives. Addressing the first round of the conference, Ayaz Sadiq said that due to the Young Parliamentarians Conference, democracy in South Asia would be strengthened. He added that the number of young parliamentarians of SAARC can play vital role for peace and unity of the continent.
He further said that the fact that France and Belgium were hunting for their enemy together was an example for SAARC countries to follow. For the prosperity of next generations, peace within in the continent is important.
Arjun Bahadur Thapa, the Secretery-General of SAARC said that the purpose of the organization was to improve contact between member states in order to promote peace, unity and friendship among them. He said that it was imperative to get youngsters involved in implementing the manifesto of SAARC since no society can prosper without the involvement of young people in it.
