Nawaz to preside over federal cabinet meeting tomorrow

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has called for a meeting of the federal cabinet on Thursday to discuss important political and security issues concerning the country.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will preside over a meeting of the federal cabinet on Thursday to discuss important matters pertaining to national politics and security. The PM has already held three meetings concerning national security with the country's civil and armed forces' representatives within a span of seven days.

Matters that are most likely to be discussed in the meeting include the Prime Minister's tour of the United States. Also, the Premier is expected to consult the federal cabinet on security challenges faced by the country as well as the disqualification references filed against Nawaz Sharif at the National Assembly. The issue of Panama leaks investigation is also to be taken up during the high-level meeting.

A detailed briefing regarding the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will also be given to the federal cabinet. The defence pact between Pakistan and Turkmenistan will also be presented for approval in the meeting. Another pact between the Auditor General of Pakistan and the Audit Department of Malaysia will also be presented for approval in the meeting.

The meeting will be held at 10 am at the Prime Minister's Secretariat.
