Tahir-ul-Qadri working on India's agenda: Rana Sanaullah

LAHORE: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah said on Monday that Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) chief Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri was working on India's agenda.

Speaking to media personnel, Rana Sanaullah asked as to why didn't the PAT chief think about starting an anti-government campaign two years ago? Rana Sanaullah said that after the Model Town incident, cases were registered against thirty people.

"It is being alleged that the Joint Investigation Report is not impartial," he said. "Five policemen have been placed under arrest for the past two years," claimed Rana Sanaullah.

He said that the PML-N was working for progress and development in Pakistan while Tahir-ul-Qadri wanted to destroy the peace of the country. Talking about the rise in kidnappings across Punjab, Sanaullah said there was no crime free society in the world. He said that 90% of the children among the kidnapped lot had escaped from home according to their will.

"The situation in reality is not as it seems," claimed Rana Sanaullah. "Yesterday four women were kidnapped from Lahore and today, there drop scene occurred," he said.

The Punjab Law Minister said that many people were subjected to torture based on mere suspicion, even parents of the children were interrogated. He said that Punjab Police had helped bring down target killing in the province and said that more than one thousand combing operations have taken place in the past six months.

"Wherever a combing operation takes place, the relevant institutions in that place will be involved," he said.

Rana Sanaullah's statements come a day after PAT chief Tahir-ul-Qadri urged masses to join his Qasas movement against the federal government.
