‘MQM had to distance itself from party chief’

ISLAMABAD: Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly (NA) Syed Khurshid Shah said on Wednesday that Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) had no option other than distancing itself from the party de-facto chief.
Khurshid Shah stated that MQM leadership present in London shall attempt to maintain its grip over the affairs of the party adding that whoever backed the MQM chief was against the state of Pakistan.
On the other hand, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader and Opposition leader in the Senate Aitzaz Ahsan had a different view regarding the situation. He stated that distancing MQM leader from the party shall not be possible anytime soon.
