Air strikes kill 17 militants in North Waziristan

RAWALPINDI: At least 17 suspected militants were killed during air strikes conducted by Pakistan military fighter jets in North Waziristan Agency while four militants were also killed in clashes that took place in Tirah Valley of Khyber Agency.

According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), seventeen militants including the foreign fighters were killed in air strikes in North Waziristan. Also, four militants were killed and six others were injured in clashes with security forces in Tirah Valley.

The terrorists had attacked the security check post in Aka Khel area of Tirah Valley and during the retaliatory attack by the security forces, four culprits were killed and six others sustained injuries.

Sources further told that the killed militants belonged to the Lashkar-e-Islam.

Security forces cordoned off the area after the clashes and initiated operation against the militants.
