COAS orders steps for return of North Waziristan displaced
* Gen Raheel expresses complete satisfaction on operations and achievements made so far * Appreciates spirit and commitment of troops in sustaining operations

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Saturday said that early return of temporarily displaced persons (TDPs) of North Waziristan Agency to home was the top priority, and directed all formations concerned to start preparation for the return phase.

During his visit to Peshawar Corps Headquarters, the COAS was briefed on the return strategy for the TDPs, including the rehabilitation of the affected areas. Gen Raheel appreciated the planning process, according to an ISPR statement issued on Saturday. During the daylong stay at Peshawar, the COAS also reviewed the progress of the ongoing Zarb-e-Azb and Khyber operations and was briefed on their next phases. He expressed complete satisfaction on the progress of operations and achievements made so far. General Raheel appreciated the spirit and commitment of troops in sustaining the operations. The COAS lauded the sacrifices rendered by officers and men in the operations, who have written new chapters of valour and commitments.

Earlier, on his arrival at the Corps Headquarters, the COAS was received by Lieutenant General Hidayatur Rehman, Commander 11, Corps Peshawar.
