Musharraf challenges ASC’s jurisdiction in Ghazi Abdul Rashid murder case

ISLAMABAD: Former president Pervez Musharraf has challenged jurisdiction of the Additional Sessions Court (ASC) in Ghazi Abdul Rashid murder case.

As per media report, Additional Sessions Judge Wajid Ali is hearing Lal Masjid Naib Khateeb Ghazi Abdul Rashid murder case. Akhtar Shah, counsel of former president Pervez Musharraf filed an application in the court seeking exemption from attendance for one day in respect of his client.

Akhtar Shah said that this case could not be heard in the ASC and trial of the case should be conducted in the court of magistrate.

Additional Sessions Judge Wajid Ali said that he did not receive notification on hearing of the case.

Tariq Asad, advocate counsel of the petitioner, said that a copy of district and sessions judge’s order could be provided to him.
