Won’t return to NA even if polls found not rigged: Imran

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Sunday said the PTI’s decision not to return to the incumbent National Assembly was irreversible even if the proposed judicial commission found the 2013 polls free of rigging.

Talking to the media at his Bani Gala residence here, Imran expressed his determination to keep pressure on the government and urged the people of Faisalabad to pour onto the streets for the protection of their rights.

The PTI chief said he had no objection to the appointment of Sardar Raza Khan as the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) but insisted on appointment of four new members of the Election Commission.

He said the government should constitute the judicial commission to probe rigging in 2013 general elections so that the problems could be sorted out.

“The PML-N and PPP under a deal got appointed the four Election Commission members, who failed to conduct rigging-free polls that runs contrary to their mandate,” he asserted and called for their replacement to make future elections uncontroversial.
