Shah Mehmood blames PML-N ministers for Faisalabad riots

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi Monday accused ministers of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for ‘whatever happened in Faisalabad’.

Talking to media persons here, he said the PTI will decide its future course of action in its core committee meeting on Tuesday.

He accused government officials of ‘inciting’ his party’s workers (to violence), saying the activists wanted to register a peaceful protest.

Qureshi said it is government’s stubbornness that caused losses to the country’s economy. “We successfully managed to keep our sit-in peaceful for 116 days,” he added.

He said PTI’s workers had been killed and wounded. “Whatever happened in Faisalabad was at the behest of N-League,” he snapped.

Qureshi also blamed PML-N for ‘distributing sticks and eggs among’ their (PML-N’s) workers.

He appealed to the PTI workers to remain calm and peaceful.
