Bao Anwar’s murder case registered in Sialkot

SIALKOT: Police have registered the murder case of Mutahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM) District Vice President Sialkot Bao Muhammad Anwar against unknown culprits in Sialkot.

According to details, the FIR was registered on the complaint of Bao Anwar’s brother Muhammad Shabbir in Haji Pura police station against the unknown killers.

Raids are being conducted in several areas to apprehend the culprits, however, no arrest was made so far.

The Soyem of Bao Anwar will be held today.

It may be mentioned that Bao Anwar was gunned down by some unknown armed persons in Sialkot early on Wednesday morning.

Two other activists of MQM Sialkot, Muneer Ahmed and Muhammad Younus, were also injured in the firing. According to senior police officials, the reason behind the murder had not been ascertained yet. Several police teams led by senior police officials were conducting raids at various places for the arrest of killers.

Meanwhile, MQM lodged protest in Sialkot city against the murder and blocked traffic on various roads of Sialkot. They demanded prompt arrest of the killers.

Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif took notice of the incident and had sought report from the DPO Sialkot in 12 hours.
