Punjab govt decides to change rules over implementation of death penalty

LAHORE - Punjab Home Department has prepared a summary to finalise the rules regarding implementation of death penalties for convicted terrorists.
As per rules, death sentences will be implemented within 14 days after issuance of black warrants. According to sources, under present rules, court’s verdict regarding death sentence should be implemented within 21 days, which duration is now being reduced. New rules will be implemented after approval of the chief minister and Punjab governor.
