OIC chief expresses sympathy over Peshawar incident

PESHAWAR: Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) Secretary General Iyad Ameen Madani on Saturday expressed deep sympathy and solidarity over the tragic Peshawar incident and also prayed for the martyrs of the Army Public School.
Madani, who arrived in the provincial capital on a brief visit, termed the school attack "a bid to weaken Pakistan". "We stand with the people of Pakistan in this hour of need. Such acts are against the norms of our religion as Islam promotes peace, compassion and tolerance," he said. "Terrorists have denied the norms of humanity by committing such brutal atrocities and we should stand together to foil the designs of miscreants in future.
