MQM London condemns Ali Raza Abidi's expulsion

LONDON: Muttahida Quami Movement (London) reacted strongly to the expulsion of MQM-Pakistan leader and MNA Syed Ali Raza Abidi, on Sunday.

According to details, a statement issued from London condemned the actions of the group that had 'sold its conscience' and said that the group had no standing among the people anymore.

"Haqparast public and workers have no respect for people who have sold their conscience," read the statement. "The PIB group has no moral or legal standing," added the statement further, making a direct reference to MQM-Pakistan's party headquarters in PIB colony.

MQM-Pakistan cancelled the basic membership of Syed Ali Raza Abidi on Sunday, explaining that he did not act according to instructions from the party leadership following the Aug. 23 incident in which MQM founder and then party chief Altaf Hussain had made an anti-Pakistan speech in which he subjected law enforcement agencies and security forces to criticism. Following the speech, armed groups of people attacked the office of a private news channel in Karachi.

On October 23, MQM Pakistan leadership Saturday expelled 11 members from the party fold, advising workers to not keep any contact with them. The MQM Pakistan Rabita Committee revoked membership of 11 affiliates for violating party discipline and expelled them from the party.
