PIA strike means termination from service, warns Pervez Rasheed
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Pervez Rasheed Monday warned that any employee of Pakistan International Airline (PIA) who goes on strike will face termination from service.
“Those PIA employees who go on strike will be taken to task,” Pervez Rasheed warned in a statement issued here.
He said PIA will continue to function as it is, so will the jobs of its employees. “If anyone is still thinking of going on strike, he must think twice,” he added.
“When we assumed power, PIA’s fleet only had 18 planes but today the number has soared to 40,” the Information Minister said.
The Information Minister said no such culture will be allowed to nurture in the country whereby ‘you destroy the institutions and then also stage strikes’.
