Pakistan's resolve for Kashmir on Solidarity Day injects new spirit: AJK President

MUZAFFARABAD - President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan on Tuesday said that observing Solidarity Day with zeal every year was testimony to Pakistan's unflinching resolve towards Kashmir cause.
He said February 5 being observed every year as Solidarity Day injects new spirit in the Freedom Movement against the brutal Indian occupation of Kashmir.
In an interview with APP on Tuesday, the President, thanking the government and people of Pakistan, said cultural and religious affinity between the people of Pakistan and Jammu and Kashmir was strong bond of unity and affection.
"The Indian government despite use of brutal force and deployment of more than eight hundred thousand armed forces in the valley could not suppress the Freedom Movement and Kashmiris' love for Pakistan. The hoisting of Pakistani flags in public gathering is a testimony to the stance", he remarked.
He said since its first observance, by Zulifqar Ali Bhuto (late), the Solidarity Day was being observed every year with unity and complete resolove for the freedom of Kashmir by every successive government and Pakistani nation." It shows People of Pakistan and Kashmir having two bodies but one soul."
Yaqub said the address of the prime Minister of Pakistan with special joint sitting of Kashmir Council and Legislative Assembly had a great significance for the cause of Kashmir
"Pakistan is incomplete without Kashmir and the Freedom Movement was infact for the completion of Pakistan as Kashmiri leadership on July 19, 1947 at the residence of Founder AJK President Sardar Ibrahim Khan in Srinagar had announced their accession to Pakistan Resolution."
AJK President said Indian brutality could not break this strong bond of affinity and affection and "continued resistance by the Kashmiris for the last 68 years is the proof of this fact."
To a question, the president said, he attended 15 meetings of Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) during his tenure and observed that the Muslim Ummah was "united and on one page with Pakistan's stance on the dispute."
Replying to another query, he said there was complete unity among Azad Kashmir's political leadership and "All Parties Hurryet Conference (APHC) was the representative body of the people from all parts of Jammu and Kashmir to negotiate as a party on the issue."
He reiterated his firm resolves that the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir will always stand by with the people of occupied Kashmir in their struggle and "the blood of the martyrs will blossom one day in the shape of liberation of the territory."
The AJK president also appealed to the International Community to take notice of human rights violations by Indian forces in Occupied Kashmir and exert pressure on India to end these brutalities.
