Analyst terms Pakistan’s efforts for Afghan peace talks positive

ISLAMABAD: Senior analyst Dr Farhat Haq has said that quadrilateral process has a positive impact on bilateral relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Talking to Radio Pakistan he said that the military to military level cooperation between Pakistan and Afghanistan would enhance intelligence sharing and ultimately it would be helpful in the eradication of terrorism. He maintained the terrorism was a common threat for the entire region not only for Pakistan and its eradication was only possible through the joint efforts of both countries. Replying to a question he said that it was quite good development that the leadership of both countries have realized this fact that the peace in the region was only possible through the adoption of common plan against the terrorists. Farhat said, “Pakistan has always desired and struggled for peace in the region. Especially peace in Afghanistan is on priority for Pakistan government.” He further said Pakistan’s efforts for peace in Afghanistan were appreciable and all the stakeholders must play their equal role in the peace procedure.
