PM, COAS visit Nawabshah to inquire after Sehwan blast victims


NAWABSHAH: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Bajwa arrived in the city on Friday afternoon to pay a visit and inquire after those who had been injured in the ghastly Sehwan attack.

The Prime Minister and army chief were accompanied by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah and Governor Sindh Muhammad Zubair.

At least 80 people were martyred and over 300 injured in a suicide attack on the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar on Thursday.

Taluka Hospital Sehwan confirmed the death toll of 60 men, four women and six children, adding that 55 bodies were handed over to their heirs, while 15 were unidentifiable. The medical facility further informed that among the injured, 190 men, 11 women and nine children were under treatment, while 41 wounded patients were shifted to other hospitals.
