PM departs for Saudi Arabia

Islamabad - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif left here on Thursday for a two-day private visit to Saudi Arabia to inquire after the health of King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz.

A statement from the PM’s House, said that the prime minister would also meet Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud who is also first deputy prime minister and minister of defence of Saudi Arabia as well as Deputy Crown Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The prime minister would also perform Umra in Madina.

In his pre-departure statement, the prime minister said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are tied in close bonds of shared faith and values. He said being the custodians of two holy mosques Saudi leadership has a special place in the heart of every Pakistani. He expressed concern over the health of the ailing King and prayed for his early recovery.
