Pakistan rejects fraudulent ISIS claims of caliphate: Masood Khan

NEW YORK: Pakistan’s Permanent Representative at the United Nations in New York, Masood Khan said on Friday, that Pakistan rejects Da’ish (ISIS) so-called claims of an Islamic Caliphate.

Participating in a debate on the Middle East organised under the mantle of the United Nations Security Council, Masood Khan emphasized that in order to preserve the global civilization everyone must work together to stop Dai’sh (ISIS).

Masood Khan said, for peace to prevail in the Middle East an independent Palestinian state is inevitable and the boundaries must be according to the geographical boundaries prior to 1967. He added that the situation between Israel and Palestine can escalate due to lack of communication between them.

Khan demanded that Israel vacate Golam and other Arab population areas. He added, that members of the Security Council must bring forth a resolution and increase diplomatic relations to resolve issues and to avoid violence.

The Pakistan representative supported the United Nations efforts for a ceasefire and restoration of political activities in Syria.
